Perth's Contour Cutting & Cast Vinyl Specialists
Some jobs need more than a straight rectangle sticker. Contour cutting uses our in-house cutting plotter to trace the exact outline of your printed artwork — logos, lettering, irregular shapes — so the finished decal has zero background, following the artwork edge to edge. Combined with premium cast vinyl, the result is a precise, durable graphic that looks like it was painted on, not stuck on.
It's the same cutting technology behind our CNC, laser & contour cutting workshop, and the same premium film we use for full vehicle wraps — but this page is about the combination: irregular-shaped, precision-cut graphics printed on the best material available.
Why Choose Super Signs for Contour Cutting & Cast Vinyl?

- 5-7 year outdoor durability — cast vinyl significantly outlasts budget calendered vinyl in Perth's UV
- Any shape, any size — logos, lettering, irregular graphics, fleet decals, floor decals
- Fast in-house turnaround — print, cut and finish all under one roof in Balcatta
- Trade cutting service — other sign companies use our contour cutter as their overflow supplier
What's the Difference Between Cast and Calendered Vinyl?
Cast vinyl is manufactured by casting a thin liquid film onto a release liner, rather than being rolled and stretched like cheaper calendered vinyl. That process makes cast vinyl thinner, more flexible and dimensionally stable — it conforms tightly around compound curves, like a car's wheel arch or wing mirror, without shrinking back or lifting at the edges over time. Calendered vinyl is cheaper and fine for short-term flat signage, but for vehicle graphics, fleet decals or anything expected to last several years outdoors, cast vinyl is the only grade we recommend.

Contour Cutting & Cast Vinyl FAQ
What is contour cutting?
Contour cutting uses a cutting plotter and registration marks printed alongside your artwork to trace and cut precisely around its outline — so the finished sticker or decal has no rectangular background, just the shape of the logo or graphic itself.
What's the difference between cast and calendered vinyl?
Cast vinyl is cast as a thin liquid film rather than rolled like cheaper calendered vinyl, making it thinner, more flexible and dimensionally stable. It conforms tightly around compound curves without shrinking back over time, and holds its colour far longer outdoors — which is why we use it for vehicle wraps and any long-term outdoor graphics.
How long does cast vinyl last outdoors in Perth?
Our premium cast vinyl is rated for 5-7 years of outdoor durability in Perth conditions, well outlasting the 3-5 year lifespan of budget calendered vinyl.
Can you contour cut any shape or logo?
Yes — if it can be printed, it can be contour cut. Complex logos, lettering, irregular shapes and multi-piece graphics are all handled by our in-house cutting plotter.
Do you supply contour cutting as a trade service to other sign companies?
Yes — we regularly contour cut for other sign companies, print shops and installers who don't have their own cutting plotter. Jobs are supplied unbranded, ready for your own installation.
Is cast vinyl only used for vehicles?
No — while it's the standard for vehicle wraps and graphics, cast vinyl is also used for wall graphics, floor decals and any long-term outdoor application where colour retention and durability matter.
